Adrian Rogers Profile Picture Conducting

Hailing from New York City, Adrian Rogers is an avid orchestral conductor, and violinist. He began his conducting journey as a part of the New York Youth Symphony’s Robert L. Poster Apprentice Conducting Program in 2015. Since then, he has gone on to study at Princeton University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics with minors in conducting and violin performance.

While at Princeton, Adrian studied conducting with Maestro Michael Pratt, served as the Assistant Conductor of the Princeton University Orchestra, and made his debut performance in 2023. Upon graduating, Adrian worked closely with Maestro David Allen Miller, composer Chris Theofanidis, and the Albany Symphony to highlight underrepresented musical voices and explore the 20th-century musical canon in the 2024 American Music Festival. Adrian continues to have a growing relationship with the Albany Symphony going into the 2024-25 season.

Additionally, Adrian is the recipient of the New York Youth Symphony’s David Alan Miller Fellowship and serves alongside Artistic Director Andrew Kim as the orchestra’s Assistant Conductor. Recently, he made his Carnegie Hall Debut with the orchestra, performing a rousing rendition of Beethoven’s Egmont Overture. Through NYYS, he is also a co-teacher of the Robert L. Poster Apprentice Conducting Program, where he is proud to mentor a cohort of conducting students through the same program that gave him his start.

At the same time, Adrian is pursuing a masters degree in conducting at the Juilliard School with Maestro David Robertson. At Juilliard, Adrian has had the opportunity to thoroughly explore both the classical and new canon of music and is honored to cover conduct and assist for visiting artists such as Daniela Candillari, Ruth Reinhardt, and Louis Langrée. Passionate about cross-disciplinary endeavors, he also led the Juilliard Orchestra in a successful run of Juilliard New Dances ballet, which included a new commission by Caroline Shaw. He is also the Artistic Director of the Weill Cornell School of Medicine Orchestra, a nonprofit orchestra dedicated to providing opportunities for medical students to engage in music while raising money and awareness for cancer research and care.

Outside of music, Adrian had a former career as a passionate chef in fine dining. He still enjoys developing tasting menus in his free time and has expanded his love of gastronomy to the beverage space, recently earning his sommelier license in 2024.
